Description:
The western distribution ring between 24 Oktoberplein and Marnixbrug must change from busy traffic roads into an attractive and easily crossable city boulevard: the Westelijke Stadsboulevard. The Westelijke Stadsboulevard in Utrecht consists of five sub-areas. Sub-area 4 is due to a destinationing plan change treated as a separate project part. The aim of the plan for sub-area 4 (Majella Knoop) of the Westelijke Stadsboulevard is to optimize traffic flow and road safety and to add quality by transforming Thomas a Kempisweg into a green park.k. Traffic that used Thomas a Kempisweg will drive via Vleutenseweg and Thomas a Kempisplantsoen. The Vleutenseweg and the Thomas a Kempisplantsoen will be adapted for this purpose. The Westelijke Stadsboulevard thus contributes to making it robust and attractive and to making it more sustainableof the city. The refurbishment mainly includes asphalt work and paving.
