- In 2016, Vitens signed a contract with one supplier for the removal of the various waste streams for all business units. This contract runs until 31032024. The collection, removal and processing of (dangerous) waste must be carried out with expertise and in accordance with the applicable legal requirements. In a dynamic and changing market, the demand for a chain partner who can act as a waste coach and sustainability adviser is great. We focus on socially responsible purchasing and searching for optimization when collecting, removing and processing waste in a circular economy. To arrive at the current tender strategy, a CFT (cross -functional team) has been formed with different disciplines from the organization. In addition, advice was obtained from consultancy firm United Quality. They have broad expertise in the market of waste processing and have insight into the possibilities of the various market parties.
