- Description: For the purpose of neurosurgical operations, Princess Máxima Center will purchase a so-called intra-operative MRI scanner. This will be installed in a newly built OK from the UMC Utrecht but remains the property of the Princess Máxima Center. Princess Máxima Center gives UMC Utrecht the right to use the IO MRI for neurosurgical purposes, specifically for operating patients who are referred to UMC Utrecht by Princess Máxima Center to UMC Utrecht and for scientific research. Princess Máxima Center is not a contracting authority and therefore free to choose the supplier for the MRI. UMC Utrecht is a contracting authority that must adhere to procurement legislation with regard to obtaining the right to the MRI scanner.
