- Description: The water board intends to start an investigation on the WWTP Hessenpoort into the effects of using pure oxygen instead of outside air for the purification of the waste water. The water board wants to have this done by modeling the purification process with a 3 -dimensional dynamic image of the biological processes. This through a combination of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and modeling of the biokinetics. The modeling must particularly clearly visualize the laughing gas emissions to the atmosphere. The goal is to build a model that is able to simulate reality. This is followed by the development of a control philosophy for minimizing the laughing gas emissions from the sewage treatment (WWTWI) using the model.
