- Description: In the area west of the city of Groningen, a large number of upper local to regional developments and spatial tasks play. The initiatives for sun and wind were the direct reason for the municipalities of Westerkwartier, Noordenveld, Groningen and the provinces of Drenthe and Groningen to start a spatial exploration. Commissioned by the aforementioned parties, these were mapped in a Matsloot-Westpoort area in an exploration for the area (see Appendix). In the Matsloot-Westpoort regional consultation on 25 June, the directors of the municipalities and provinces took note of this exploration of interests and recognized that a joint view of the area is needed into a regional framework. With this, the joint authorities want to give the various developments and tasks in conjunction a place and prevent cluttering of the landscape.
