Description:
There are two historic locks in the municipality of Maastricht, which ensure the passage of pleasure boats, access to the inner harbor and the water management in the Bassin. Lock 20 forms the link between the Maas and the inner harbor "Het Bassin", after which boats can pass through the high seasstoric waterway route in the direction of lock 19. This lock connects the waterway route with the Zuid-Willemsvaart, which was built around 1824. The canal runs from the Bassin in Maastricht, via Belgian Limburg to 's-Hertogenbosch.
For these historic works of art, the municipality of Maastricht is looking for an opcontractor who can professionally carry out the (re)design, production, installation and adjustment of new wooden lock gates with which the existing lock gates of the lower heads of both locks are replaced without detracting from the monumental appearance of locks 19 and 20.
