- The municipality of De Fryske Marren strives to be fossil -free by 2050, with the natural gas -free of the built environment has an important priority. In the coming years, the focus is on naisoling existing homes and stimulating solar energy on roofs. Hereby it is fromimportance that biodiversity in the municipality is guaranteed. To achieve this, the municipality wants to have a species management plan (SMP) drawn up. This determines where the protected species occur and which buildings are important. This plan will serve as a basis for an area -orientedExemption from the province of Fryslan. This SMP must meet the province's guidelines, as laid down in the 'Guide for Species Management Plan' (see Appendix I).
