- The aim is to acquire a high-performance liquid chromatograph coupled to a high-resolution mass spectrometer instrument that can measure proteins and glycoproteins derived from individual cells, so-called single cell proteomics (SCP). To study glycoproteins, the separation of structurally different glycans, which have the same mass (isobaric molecules), requires the use of an ion mobility device that separates compounds based on molecular shape. This allows the individual characterization of heterogeneous cell populations, such as those derived from tumors or lung tissues.
