Description : To fulfil the requirements and needs of the battery thermal propagation (BaTProp) project, the European Commission''s Joint Research Centre — Energy, Transport and Climate Directorate in Petten (hereafter JRC), intends hereby to procure the testing (and to use of the results obtained from that testing) of Rapid Heating-Triggered Thermal Runaway Propagation on:
A. battery packs used for the propulsion of electric vehicles, containing secondary lithium-ion cells; and
B. a full-scale rechargeable electrical energy storage system (REESS), commonly referred to as battery system, in a vehicle, including coupled gas analysis, to be performed at the contractor(s)''s premises.
