In the municipality of Zaanstad, vehicle owners have to pay when they park their vehicle in a paid parking area. When owners park their vehicles without paying, they receive a parking fine or a so-called additional parking tax assessment.
In recent years, the municipality of Zaanstad has continuously renewed the control of paid parking. For example, the parking permit has been made digitally, parkers can use special parking apps, or pay with their mobile phone (call parking) and they can enter their license plate number at the parking machine (license plate parking). Parking is therefore fully digitally arranged. The municipality of Zaanstad is looking for a solution to carry out parking checks even more carefully and fairly.
