At a time when digitalization offers opportunities and changes at a rapid pace, Rijkswaterstaat (RWS) also faces a major challenge. RWS is responsible for the management of the Netherlands' crucial infrastructure, in which more work must be done with less resources. Digitalization plays an essential role in this. RWS uses the power of the market to do this and purchases services. We work together with market parties to ensure the continuity of services. RWS is and remains as asset manager responsible at all times for the availability and reliability of the networks, including the IV network. To respond to organizational needs, the technological possibilities within ICT and existing ICT infrastructure In order to maintain and modernize, it is important that RWS can keep pace with its own ICT services. The CIV is responsible on behalf of Rijkswaterstaat for the management and maintenance of information systems (applications) and platform services that are used for the primary processes of Rijkswaterstaat. RWS cannot and does not want to do this independently; depending on the service, RWS outsources it to the market or together with market parties. This market exploration serves as preparation for the intended tender for IV services for applications and platforms.
