• Tenders are invited for RF Interference Monitoring for Space Missions From the ESA Security Strategy detailed in the ESA Security Directives, and under therequest of the Director General, the ESA Cyber Coordination Board has been established,chaired by ESO with representatives from all of ESA, which has identified a set of top prioritysystems and technologies (within the Basic Activities) focused on increasing the CyberResilience of the Agency itself and the robustness of ESA Missions. This set of projects arein line with the principles and standards established within the ESA SecurityFramework andallow ESA to face the evolution of the threat landscape.These projects cover two main streams of activities. The first set of activities are focused oncreating a secure cyber backbone in the Agency in order to be able to secure the corporateand the space missions of ESA, covering the prevention and/or detection of potential threatsor vulnerabilities affecting ESA space mission assets. The second set of activities arefocused on the RD of technologies that can mitigate the long-term security risk of theAgency, that can support the ESA long-term plan and vision for space missions and itscorporate activities, or that can bring an increased level of security to any Space system.Under the cyber security preventing technologies, the SCCOE platform (Security CyberCentre of Excellence for Test, Validation and Qualification) and CSOC system (CyberSecurity Operational Centre) are being developed (both will be operational in the first half of2024). The SCCOE platform will support the security engineering and the security assuranceof ESA Space Missions and Corporate activities, from design up to the qualification. And theCSOC will be deployed with the mission to monitor the threat and the vulnerabilities of bothESA Systems at Corporate Level and at Space Mission Level. The CSOC is being built withRF spectrum monitoring capabilities for the ground segment (i.e., focused on space-to-earthbands for the protectionof ground assets).Read more
