Description:
Tenders are invited for Real-Time Assessment of Radiation Environments on Gateway The first elements of the lunar Gateway will be the Propulsion Element (PPE) and Habitation and Logistics Outpost (HALO) and is planned to be launched to the Moon in 2024. The European Radiation Sensor Array (ERSA) to be externally mounted on PPE will be returning radiation monitor data and associated magnetic field data from the SREM, NGRM, ICARE, EAD, HardPix and MAGIC magnetometer instruments. Along with ERSA will be the IDA (Internal Dosimeter Array) internally mounted in HALO which is composed of the European EAD, MediPix and TRITEL radiation instruments plus two JAXA instruments - PADLES (passive dosimeter) and D-Space (active dosimeter). These elements have a long duration (486-day) electric propulsion orbit raising phase providing a unique opportunity to inter-calibrate these instruments and compare them to environments measured by other instruments in the heliosphere in order to provide high-quality flux and spectrum data products. In order to simulate the environment inside the lunar Gateway to derive doses for astronauts and mission-critical components this precise spectral information is needed. This higher quality cross-calibrated radiation data will also be required for exploitation by the science teams. This activity aims at investigating the ground calibration data and perform techniques to derive more accurate flux products and also inter-calibrate the instruments to produce a software pipeline for an unified data set which is then passed to the ERSA and IDA data hub (ERFNet).This activity encompasses the following tasks:- Gather all necessary information on instrumentation calibration
