Description: The Tecnis Intraocular Lens has a unique combination of a number of properties that makes this lens very suitable for use in third -line ophthalmic care within the UMCG. That is evident from: 1. The lenses of J&J remain intra and post surgically well in place This is due to: a. The Tecnis lenses have specific (patented) hydrophobic acrylate material (the material soft enough to be foldable so that the entire range of lens strengths can be placed by 1 incision, hard enough to be form stable immediately after placement in the eye) .b. The design of the Tecnis Lens, a one piece intraocular lens and the design with an optic and haptics with a unique offset, which makes the point of view of the lens to the rear that promotes the (immediate) stability of the lens in the hairstyle bag. c. Implantation is promoted because the Tecnis Lens is the only intraocular lens semi pre-loaded to be supplied in the Smartload system.
