The products have different application options and each have their own advantages and disadvantages. In general, a contracting authority has lesser quality and more limited application possibilities of accepting a product, if a cheaper but less suitable product based on the award criterion is the best for a tendering procedure. When purchasing a medical device such as conventional adhesive material, where the choice for the product/system of a certain entrepreneur has a direct influence on the quality and safety of care and the patient's chance of survival, this is different. In addition, this assignment cannot be carried out by multiple supplier because of the fact that only Johnson & Johnson can offer a total portfolio triclosan coated adhesive materials.
