The assignment concerns the delivery, implementation and maintenance of an OSINT solution.
OSINT concerns Intelligence that is based on information obtained from publicly accessible sources. This includes not only information from the internet, but also all classic open sources (radio and television broadcasts, written and electronically accessible documents, newspapers, news magazines, government documents, etc.).
With the rise of the Internet, an information explosion has occurred. This includes the quantity, quality and accessibility of the available informationincreased enormously. Within OSINT, this information must be assigned a value and placed in context. The intelligence obtained through research based on internet sources is called WEBINT.
With the enormous increase in available information, manual searchand processing this information has become a very labor-intensive process and an unworkable situation. There is therefore a shared need among the various armed forces to conclude a framework agreement with regard to an (automated) solution to the WEBINT process. TueThe process is based on and takes place in accordance with the intelligence cycle of the JDP 2 doctrine.
