• Tenders are invited for Provision of Time-Based Services of an Advanced Network Engineer for MUAC. Call for Tenders No.: 21-660078-A Title: Provision of time-based services of an Advanced Network Engineer for MUAC General: EUROCONTROL* is an intergovernmental organisation with 41 Member and 2 Comprehensive Agreement States. We are committed to building, together with our partners, a Single European Sky that will deliver the air traffic management (ATM) performance required for the twenty-first century and beyond. Technical subject matter: EUROCONTROL requires a full-time Advanced Network Engineer to assist the internal staff of the Network Team at the Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre (MUAC). Within MUAC, the NET Team is responsible for all LAN & WAN infrastructure and Network IT Security Systems. It faces sustained high levels of workload due to a number of complex projects requiring LAN and/or WAN connectivity, activities aiming at the timely replacement of obsolete hence unsupported IT equipment. In addition, the drastic increase of home-users in 2020 has resulted in a number of technical and organisational measures to assure full access to all necessary on-site resources from any remote location without any compromise to security. The NET Engineer/Contractor will be accountable to the Team Leader and responsible for providing support for the systems in the team-s portfolio. Main selection, assessment and award criteria:: TECHNICAL ASSESSMENT CRITERIA Bachelor-s degree in engineering (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications) or equivalent. Cisco CCNP accredited. Availability start on short notice expected Q 2 2021 Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in networking and IT security technology Practical Experience with following brands: CISCO, CHECKPOINT, FORTINET Practical Experience with following brands: GIGAMON explained in detail in the CV Practical Experience in migrating between different firewall vendor platforms (Checkpoint, Fortinet and Cisco ASA), and experience in upgrading and converting different firewall platform from Checkpoint and Fortinet Checkpoint and Fortinet certificates accredited Detailed knowledge of data communication protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, FTP...), Routing, Switching Knowledge of Quality of Service and experience designing/implementing QoS in an enterprise environment Familiar with network management tools and SIEM. (e.g. Zenoss, CA Spectrum & Splunk) Familiar with design concepts in LAN/WAN design At least 1 year of experience in a project environment, quality/security standards, configuration management & tools Good knowledge of MS Office tools Word, Excel, Visio Ability to draft clear and concise technical papers in English Experience working in a multi-cultural team proven with references Autonomy: ability to deliver quality output with minimum guidance Motivation and commitment to deliver under tight time constraints Good interpersonal and team-working skills Ability to communicate technical details clearly and succinctly Result-driven, readiness to change, customer focus, integrity and team player approach Multitasking and Analytical Skills Knowledge of English.
