  • Description:
  • Tenders are invited for Prototyping of Novel Optical Payloads Using Freeform Optics and Curved Sensors The challenge of miniaturizing optical payloads for Earth Observation (EO) missions, particularly for ocean color measurements, demands innovative designs. This activity focuses on creating a compact wide-field hyperspectral imaging system using advanced technologies like freeform optics, curved sensors, and on-chip linear variable filters. Specifically tailored for ocean color studies, the objective is to maintain high resolution and image quality while reducing overall mission complexity and cost. The activity comprises three main steps: specification and design, component procurement and prototype assembly, and testing and optimization. Through these phases, the feasibility of the compact payload is proven, from conceptualization to laboratory assessment of performance. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies and a tailored approach to meet ocean color measurement requirements, this activity aims to advance the capabilities of EO missions while reducing the footprint and cost of optical payloads
