Description: Various buffers have been built around the Bargerveen to prevent the raised bog from being lost due to desiccation. These are areas with a higher water level where run-off water is collected and regulated. After buffers at Zwartemeer and Weiteveen, it is now the turn of Buffer Zuid at Nieuw-Schoonebeek. A very water-rich buffer will be built here, where other (economic) developments can also find a place in addition to nature. A program of projects has been prepared to realize this.
The Executive Committee Bargerveen-Schoonebeek is looking for market parties / investors who see opportunities in or for Buffer Zuid. For this purpose, a market consultation is being organized where parties are invited to think about the role they can play in the development of Buffer South.
