Description:
The Government of the Netherlands through the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management and the Government of Indonesia through its Ministry of Public Works and Housing have a longlasting cooperation on water which is secured in a Memorandum of Understanding on Water for 20222027. Within the framework of the MoU, the Joint Steering Committee in November 2023 approved to facilitate joint working groups (WGs) enhancing strategic dialogues resulting in (an outline for) a programmatic approach on the following themes: WG 1: Integrated Water Resilience from North Java to enlighten other priority developments in Indonesia WG 2: Lowland development and irrigation WG 3: Knowledge exchange, capacity building and youth engagement This assignment is a followup of ‘Phase I: Setting the Scene for a coordinated vision for the greater Semarang region towards 2045' and contributes to activities under WG 1 and 3 and aligns with the mutual ambitions of both GoI and GoN under the MoU Water.
