Description: Purpose of the tender: The Assistant Schiphol has its own fire brigade of 145 men who must regularly train to remain certified for its duties. For this, Schiphol has its own fire brigade practice (broef) with the necessary practice facilities. The current Broef has been in use for more than 20 years and needs a renovation. On the current Broef, Schiphol has a practice object in the form of a short Cat 10 plane, based on a Boeing 747 (front) and an MD11 (back). In and around this aircraft all kinds of fires (cabinbrand, motorcycle fire, surface fire, landing gear, etc.) can be simulated. In addition, there are a number of small practice objects near the aircraft (tank car, helicopter, loose engine, etc.) that also practicing. The fires are generated using propane gas which is stored in a tank at a safe distance and is transported in the ground to the various objects through pipes. The cooling of the parts where a fire is simulated is done with collected extinguishing water that is pumped to the locations in question through an underground piping system.
