Description: Since 2014, the mayor sets up Camera surveillance for the purpose of maintaining public order in the Sittard and Geleen Centers. Later the area around the Footuna football stadium has been added and expansion in and around the centers over the years. Camera surveillance has been evaluated and this shows that camera surveillance makes a constant positive contribution to the package of measures to tackle safety assignments in the municipality. A logical consequence of this is the continuation and expansion of camera surveillance. In 2021 the municipality started a further development project. The contract with the current supplier runs out in February 2022, the camera surveillance system is outdated and it is time for renewal. This means that a European tender has started to ensure the continuity of camera surveillance.
