Description:
Tenders are invited for Navisp-EL1-078 Autonomous Alternative Absolute Navigation (AAAN) Technologies for Maritime - EXPRO+. The objective of the activity is to study, develop and demonstrate new positioning technologies for the maritime environment, particularly in the context of autonomous vessels in open seas, by investigating new approaches to achieve autonomous absolute positioning. It will include a detailed assessment, trade-off and demonstration via prototyping, of the tangible benefits provided by adoptingCelestial Navigation with multi-band sensors fused with inertial measurement units (IMU) for detecting natural and artificial celestial targets during night and day, independently of the meteorologically conditions, to obtain a position solution. The accuracy target is expected to be competitive with a sextant. The focus of the activity is on the technology for the usage of optical signals for navigation and inertial sensors. Other signals are of secondary importance and GNSS should not be used as aiding.
