Description: The Center for Population screening (CVB) is a center within the Public Health and Care domain (V&Z) of the RIVM. The RIVM CVB is commissioned by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport responsible for directing the population investigations carried out by the government. The RIVM-CVB currently, commissioned by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, has the national direction on eight programs, to be subdivided into the National Griege Prevention Program (NPG), the National Pneumococcal Vaccination Adults (NPPV) program, the Pre- and neonatal screening and the population investigations into cancer (BVOK). As described above, the national direction of the BVOK is in the hands of the RIVM CVB. As part of this, the RIVM-CVB is responsible for monitoring and evaluation of the population investigations. In that context, national monitors are drawn up annually to monitor the quality and accessibility of this screening, to signal bottlenecks (in the care chain), to be able to adjust, but also to answer to the client VWS and the chain partners.
