Description:
GVB intends to hold a European tender for the purchase of 2 shunting locomotives and 2 or 3 inspection rail vehicles and 4 rail wagons. Within the department of GVB “Railinfrabedrijf” (RIB), the Metro Rail Execution Department carries out maintenance work on the rail network of Amsterdam. This includes tasks such as troubleshooting, inspecting and renewing/replacing objects/components and advising on sustainability of the rail network for safe and responsible operation. Aiding in derailments also falls under the responsibilities of this department. The work is physically performed by people on the track and, due to various regulations and compliancy requirements, necessitates specifically equipped equipment to do so.
