- The municipality of Maastricht has started the development of a residential area in the TregaZinkwit area, due to the high demand for housing in the city. The project includes approximately 1,100 homes (phase 1a, 1b and 2 together), all of which must be provided with basic amenities such as heat. Because of the grid congestion in the municipality, the effect of a heating network on the electricity grid was investigated. The results of this research have led the municipality to decide to collectively regulate the heat supply in Trega Zinkwit via a heat network with heat from local sources.
Through this market consultation, the municipality of Maastricht wishes to obtain information from the market in order to arrive at suitable tender documents that match the possibilities of the market and which will be used in a tender procedure that will ultimately be initiated.
