Description:
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management (IenW) has been granting subsidies for the remediation of traffic noise for decades. IenW does this via the Sanering Traffic noise Office (BSV). To date, the subsidies are based on the Noise Nuisance Act and the Subsidy Schedule for Traffic Nations (SSV). These subsidies are mainly requested by municipalities. Every year approximately 25 to 30 million euros in subsidies are awarded, and around 25 to 30 million euros is also paid (advances and definitive settlements). As of January 1, 2024, the Environment Act, the Environmental Decree (OB) and the Decree on Quality of Living Environment (BKL) and also a specific regulation for remediation of traffic noise (RSV). IenW wants to use this moment to investigate through a consultation whether market organizations are other than BSV Capabel and are interested in managing the subsidy program under the Environment Act.
