• Description:
• The South East district is working on the development and release of a catering pavilion with terrace in the Nelson Mandela Park. This development stems from the Nelson Mandela Park Vision (2022), which states that the park must develop into a lively and attractive city park for the diverse and growing population of Zuidoost. During resident participation and policy formulation, it became clear that there is a need for a catering facility. Such a facility makes the park more hospitable and attracts visitors stay longer and contribute to more social encounters. We use a tender procedure to look for a party that wants to realize a catering facility. The building envelope assumes a building with a footprint of approximately 200 m², with the possibility for a recessed floor, and a terrace of approximately 500 m². This offers space for a compact but high-quality catering facility that fits in well with the park function. The location (see attachment) is located on a Plusnet cycle path, making it... pavilion is easily accessible for cyclists and pedestrians. There are no private parking spaces; the nearest public parking is located on Karspeldreef. The Nelson Mandela neighborhood, a new one, is also being built on the east side of the park district with approximately 725 homes and facilities that will be completed from 2027. These future residents form an important group of users of the park and the catering industry.
