- Radboud university medical center is investigating the market for functionally equivalent solutions for DNA extraction and real-time PCR within the molecular diagnostics of medical microbiology. The current workflow includes pipetting robots, extraction equipment and qPCR instruments, linked via middleware and LIS. The goal is to replace 2 nucleic acid extraction platforms (96-wells) and 4 qPCR analyzers, while maintaining integration within the current molecular diagnostic platform and turnaround time. The systems must be proven for at least 5 years used for medical microbiological molecular diagnostics in an ISO 15189 accredited laboratory or equivalent accreditation. This also applies to integration with existing middleware and LIS (AuroraFlow ↔ GLIMS/HL7).
