Description:
As the person responsible for the condition of the infrastructure, ProRail has, among other things, condition measurements performed on the overhead wires. So far this has only happened on the open track. The ambition is that such measurements will also take place at the railway yards.
To give shape to this ambition, ProRail hasIn recent years, we have developed our own contact wire thickness measuring system in collaboration with TNO. In an earlier market consultation (spring 2022), an inventory was made of whether the operationalization of this system is possible. The results of this were positive.
However, the market also cameThis is a signal that existing measuring systems are available that offer comparable functionality.
With this market consultation, ProRail wants to investigate which market parties are able and willing to provide such measurements with their own measuring systems and equipment and to gain insight intothe technical possibilities of and experiences with these measuring systems.
