The provision of air traffic services is LVNL's core activity and primary statutory task. All other tasks of LVNL are also laid down in the Aviation Act. This includes the provision of communication, navigation and positioning services, the provision of aeronautical information services and the provision of training for air traffic services. In other words: LVNL is responsible for the management of the civil airspace over the NETHERLANDS and part of the North Sea and everything related to this. LVNL has been doing this since 1923 and since 1983 as an Independent Administrative Body (ZBO). LVNL's head office, which employs approximately 800 FTEs, is located at Schiphol.
