Description: The energy and emission policy of Vitens states that Vitens operates "climate neutral" from 2021. This requires (among other things) the purchase of Carbon Credits to compensate for realized emissions annually. Vitens currently buys carbon certificates that meet our minimum quality requirement (Gold Standard Verified).
The above is reason for Vitens to be advised on compiling a balanced CO2 compensation portfolio. The composition will have to take place on the basis of a balance between costs and social impact and explain to customers and stakeholders. To prevent the appearance of "greenwashing", complete transparency about the origin of our certificates and the type of projects are of great importance.
