General information The Ministry of Defense consists of seven organizational parts. The Royal Navy is one of the seven organizational parts of the Ministry of Defense. The Royal Navy is committed to peace and security at and from the sea. In The Netherlands and abroad. Fleet and Marine units, together with NATO allies, provide deterrence. And if necessary, they fight to win. The Navy also helps with disasters and crisis management operations. The Directorate of Material Maintenance (DMI) is part of the Royal Navy. The maintenance of ships, submarines and systems in the navy is done at the DMI in Den Helder. Current situation A large number of historic buildings, alloy buildings and a museum at the Naval Base in Den Helder falls under the full management of the Central Government Real Estate Agency (RVB). However, there are also some buildings with offices, workshops and classrooms (non-residential buildings) of which only the shell falls under the management of the RVB. Lighting falls under the accountability of the TFGO. This means that maintaining a thorough range of fixtures and lamps is also part of TFGO's responsibility. Desired situation The agreement for the lighting range is currently expiring. This means that the Royal Navy will have to look for a new supplier for the lighting range.
