- The province of Limburg and Staatsbosbeheer intend to publish a European tender at the end of September 2023 about the management of Maaspark Ooijen-Wanssum (more than 500 hectares). The requested long-term management consists of natural grazing (year-round) for 6 years plus one optionto an extension of 6 years.
The activities consist of year-round grazing of the floodplains with a herd of approximately 160 cattle. These cattle are suitable for grazing in nature areas that are open to the public. The contract does not include mowing management of the area. This will go througha separate process.
Lease contracts are also concluded with the winning tenderer and therefore the actual user of the land. The land that is leased may be included in the plot registration with RVO.
