- Within the Amsterdam UMC, more than 4,000 pipettes from 16 laboratories are maintained, calibrated and, if necessary, adjusted and/or repaired every year. This results in very complex logistics. Some laboratories send the pipettes in phases, others leave the pipette calibration in-housetakes place because one cannot do without the pipettes for long. The current contract for the AMC location will soon expire, resulting in a new tender for the Amsterdam UMC as a whole. The desire is to centralize and optimize this process through maintenance, calibration, adjustment and repair of pipettes to one supplier who can supply all these facets and carry them out on location. This creates an optimization in the planning and execution of pipette calibration, maintenance and repair which is necessary for the accreditation.e van de laboratoria.
