Tenders are invited for m7 System Study Plasma Observatory The Call for M7 Mission Proposals was issued in December 2021. ESA received 14 valid proposals that underwent a selection process leading to the recommendation of three ESA-led candidate missions by the Space Science Advisory Committee (SPC(2023)31): M-MATISSE, aiming to study Mars as a global dynamic system using a 2-spacecraft configuration, targeting atmosphere-ionosphere-magnetosphere-solar wind interactions, and aiming to disentangle spatial and temporal effects on various processes driving the Martian system. Plasma Observatory, a multi-spacecraft mission to study the coupling of fluid and ion scales within astrophysical plasmas in near-Earth space, advancing the knowledge of particle energisation and energy transfer. THESEUS, a multi-instrument mission for transient astronomy, with focus on Gamma Ray Bursts, aiming at the exploration of the high-redshift Universe through studies of the explosions of the first massive stars and the identification of GW counterparts.ESA Phase 0 internal studies were carried out for these 3 missions within ESA's Concurrent Design Facility, between March 2023 and July 2023.The next step is for industry and instrument consortia to study these missions at Definition Phase (A/B1) level. The Phase A will run until Q2 2026 and will include a include a Mission Selection Review (MSR) as further detailed in Section 8.2.1.2. Following the MSR, a single mission will be selected to continue to the Phase B1. This Phase B1 will run until Q4 2028 and will be concluded by a Mission Adoption Review (MAR).After mission adoption, the Implementation Phase B2/C/D/E1 will start in 2029, with an indicative launch date by 2037.The Plasma Observatory part of the M7 System studies ITT is being reissued to restore competition and receive more offers for Plasma Observatory
