- This assignment consists of internationally transporting (semi-finished) banknotes worth up to EUR 15 million. The size of a transport varies from a single seal bag to multiple pallets. The transports take place between DNB and another national central bank, or between DNB and a supplier. In many cases, the ECB requests DNB to carry out such a transport. The point of departure in most cases is the Netherlands, and the destination is generally in the eurozone, but occasionally outside (e.g. Japan, USA). An example of such transport involves transporting a test set in a metal case between DNB and a machine supplier in Munich. This test set is then returned to DNB after several weeks, at DNB-s request.
