- The Client intends to place a number of LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) systems on the platforms of wind energy areas in the North Sea to collect information regarding wind direction and wind speeds. The growing number of wind farms in the Dutch North Sea offers both the necessityas the ability to measure wind conditions at those locations. The data can be used for, among other things, nowcasting and improving weather forecasting, increasing the efficiency of the wind turbines, as well as for wind climatic purposes.
