- The Dutch textile remediation industry is under increasing pressure. With the introduction of extensive producer responsibility and the growing demand for high -quality circular textile flows, there is an urgent need for scaling up, innovation and coordination within the sorting chain. At the same time, the quality of collected clothing is decreasing due to the increasing fast fashion on the market and the sale of C2C. The business case for sorting is not sustainable in its current form: operating sorters with structural losses and threatening to fall away, while playing a key role in closing the textile cycle. Larging automation is one of the solutions, but financing for this is currently difficult for individual players to realize due to the missing business case.
