• The BIO2 (Government Information Security Baseline 2) focuses on securing information systems within the government, including building installations such as climate control, access control, fire alarm systems and energy networks. These systems are always more often connected to IT networks (IoT, Building Management Systems), making them vulnerable to cyber risks. An attack on these systems can lead to physical consequences, such as disruptions in critical processes, security risks or service outages. Building installations fall under the BIO2scope because they are part of the information system. A cyber incident can disrupt critical services, such as security systems or access control systems. Within the government, the BIO2 serves as a framework information security. The BIO2 is mandatory. The BIO2 will therefore have an impact on the suppliers, contractors, maintenance parties, etc. of the Central Government Real Estate Agency. In this market consultation, the RVB wants to map the impact together with the market and see how we can jointly implement the requirements in a practical manner.
