Description: The building of the Rijnland Water Board on Archimedesweg 1 in Leiden was founded in 1998. The facades of the building are equipped with a facade system with ceramic façade elements between metal profiles. This concerns set metal C-profiles such as horizontal sections at the floor of the floor floors and covering profiles between the surfaces with ceramic elements. These metal profiles are attached to multiplex strips that are attached to the HSB façade elements. Since this is an open (ventilating) façade covering system, moisture can also touch the cladding behind the cladding.
At a few locations, moisture entry has already led to severe wood rot in the plywood strips. As a result, a few C profiles have recently been released from the facade.
