- Periodic evaluations can make an important contribution to increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of the policy, because insight is gained into the operation and outcomes of the policy and in possibilities for improvements. In addition, evaluation research is accounted for the parliament about the policy to be pursued and the policy pursued and the legal obligation to periodically investigate the policy for effectiveness and efficiency (in accordance with Article 4.1, first paragraph, of the 2016 Compatibility Act). Article 4:24 of the General Administrative Law Act contains an obligation to evaluate subsidies that are based on a legal provision at least once every five years.
