- The EVZ Nijdjip project consists of five kilometers of ecological connecting zone. The connecting zone is a strip of swampy nature and is part of the nature connection between: De Grote Wielen and the Alde Feanen. In addition, a nature -friendly bank is also installed. The southern part is part of the Frisian bosom along this route, for the nature -friendly bank, the barrier is moved inland and applied to height. This makes the area better protected in the future with high tide. Nature along the Nijdjip connects the various nature reserves that act as a temporary place of residence or even as a habitat, the so -called stepping stones. Where the zone roads crosses, fauna tubes are laid under the road and where the zone crosses bridges, fauna passages are laid.
