Description: University Medical Center GroningenThe University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) is one of the largest hospitals in the Netherlands and the largest employer in the Northern Netherlands. The more than 12,000 employees work in patient care and to prominent scientific research, with the focus on ' healthy and active aging '. In the context of scientific research and education, closely cooperates with the University of Groningen. Around 3400 students are trained to doctor, dentist or motion scientist and more than 450 doctors trained to medical specialist. The Orthopedics training is provided within the Noordoost Nederland cluster, in which orthopedic surgeon-in training follows 1 to 2 years of this in the UMCG. Patients come to the UMCG for highly specialized diagnostics, research or treatment. Many of the Northern Netherlands patients with complicated or rare disorders are ultimately referred to the UMCG.
