- The scope of the DVM system concerns the realization of a new DVM system or DVM functionality to replace the current GNV system, as well as the expansion to the Southwest area. What do we mean by a (M) DVM system? The term (m) DVM system stands for (multimodal) dynamic traffic management system. With this system, the municipality of Utrecht wants to control traffic (pedestrian, bicycle, public transport and car) based on the current and/or the expected traffic situation. The system monitors traffic and grabs automatically to achieve predetermined goals (per area). In addition to steering on the above modalities, the DVM system also aims to protect living and residential areas against traffic nuisance. This includes preventing stagnant traffic on Stadsboulevards and promoting the crossability of Stadsboulevard on irregular intersections by dosing the traffic on designated places.
