Description: The Dijk Enhancement of City Tiel project is part of the high water protection program. The assignment consists of strengthening approximately 3 km. Primary flood defense between the Prince Bernhard lock in the Amsterdam Rhine Canal and the inlet diver in the inundation channel west of the city of Tiel. This flood defense consists of both a dyke body in land and constructive elements that have been rejected at various failure mechanisms such as macro stability, height and piping. The aim is to make this primary flood defense to meet the high water safety requirements in 2024.
