  • Tenders are invited for Digital Twin Supported Design and Manufacturing of Dielectric Filters (ARTES 4.0 AT 5 C.493). Objective: The objective of the activity is to design and develop compact dielectric filters for C-, Ku or Ka-band applications. This shall include the development of a multiphysics digital twin modelling the manufacturing process of the dielectric resonators in order to maximise the manufacturing yield and reduce the design time. At least three dielectric filter breadboards shall be manufactured, experimentally tested and compared against the digital model predictions. Targeted Improvements:- Enabling a European or Canadian digital process abstraction of a manufacturing process for dielectric parts.- Improvement of the manufacturing yield of dielectric resonators by at least 50%.- Enable the realisation of complex resonator geometries and hence 30% size reduction.Description: Compact broadband input filters continue to use traditional design and manufacturing approaches despite recent advances in dielectric advanced manufacturing techniques. This limits further reduction in mass and increase in compactness by exploring complex resonator shaping and mono-block type designs. In part, this is due to insufficient frameworks for design rules and in part due to a lack of ability to sense and control key parameters during Advanced Manufacturing (AM) of dielectric parts for filter applications. Digital modelling of the manufacturing process and RF filter and implementation of a digital twin has the potential to overcome these limitations and all benefits of AM in terms of functional integration and mass reduction could be harnessed. Moreover, the use of a digital twin will improve the overall RF development cycle, by reducing lead time and increasing manufacturing yield. This activity will develop the digital twin needed to achieve compact dielectric filters for C-, Ku or Ka-band application. It encompasses the design, development, manufacturing and testing of the software and hardware (sensor) parts of a digital twin. At least three dielectric filter breadboards shall be designed, manufactured, experimentally tested and compared against the digital model predictions. Price Range: 500 KEURO.
