The Municipality has a responsibility under the Public Health Act to monitor the medical condition of citizens and prevent unnecessary health damage and risks to public health.
The support for homeless people is regulated in the Wmo, which includes the partnershipsocial care. As a central municipality, The Hague, together with the regional municipalities, is responsible for supporting people from social shelters.
The Dak and homeless desk belongs to the OCW Department and is responsible for implementation. This means that registrations for support are pendingn via the municipality's Homeless Desk. This determines who has access to social care facilities and what support is needed. The Homeless Desk identifies with the chain partners where and to what extent medical support is desirable, in addition to the regular Zvw grant.financed support. They do this in collaboration with the street nurse and medical advisor GGD and Street doctor. The medical care provider determines with the client what care is required.
