- Description: There are two historic locks in the municipality of Maastricht, which take care of the passage of pleasure craft, access to the inland port and the water management in the basin. Sluis 20 forms De Schakel between Maas and the Binnenhaven "The Bassin", after which boats can sail through the historic sailing route towards Sluis 19. This lock connects the sailing route with the Zuid-Willemsvaart which was constructed around 1824. The canal runs from the basin to Maastricht, via Belgian-Limburg to 's-Hertogenbosch. For these historical artworks, the municipality of Maastricht is looking for a contractor who can (re) design, install, install and adjust new wooden lock gates with which the existing Sluis doors of the lower heads of both locks are being replaced without compromising the monumental appearance of the locks 19 and 20.
