Description: BAGRINE RTG is an important link in the connections with the European Hinterland that the province wants to realize. The RTG makes it possible for companies from the region to use transportation over the Betuwe Route. With the RTG, three types of transport come together near Nijmegen and Overbetuwe: Spoor (De Betuweroute), Weg (the A15) and Water (De Waal). By combining the three types of transport, this area becomes an even more attractive location for (logistics) companies and strengthens the regional and national economy. This stimulates employment in the region. The RTG makes an important contribution to the Gelderse climate goals due to the lower CO2 emissions of transport by rail. The province has the ambition to develop a sustainable RTG and to limit the effects of the RTG for the environment as much as possible, by looking into both the RTG and the access road in the landscape and on the RTG as much as possible with electric or with renewable Energy driven equipment to work.
